At Zurich, we don’t just cover, we care.We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to join our Insurance legal team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll provide trusted legal, regulatory and governance advice that enables our insurance and advice business to deliver on its strategic goals while protecting our customers and reputation.You’ll play a key part in supporting our retail life insurance and corporate teams, working alongside a collaborative, purpose-driven group. This is a role where your expertise will directly influence business outcomes, helping shape decisions, manage risk, and support innovation across a transforming, digitally focused organisation.You will also be responsible for the following:

 

• Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice on business initiatives and decisions
• Identify and manage legal, regulatory and governance risks across the business
• Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts and agreements
• Support complaints handling, disputes resolution and regulatory interactions
• Contribute to compliance frameworks and governance processes
• Stay across legislative and regulatory changes and share insights with stakeholders

You’re a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys working close to the business and influencing outcomes. You build trusted relationships with ease and bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to complex challenges.In order to be successful, you will have the following:

•  A law degree and a current practising certificate in New South Wales
•  Extensive post-qualification experience in financial services law, ideally covering life insurance and financial advice
•  Strong knowledge of Australian financial services regulation and industry practices
•  Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and managing legal risk
•  The ability to analyse complex issues and communicate advice in a clear, simple way
•  Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels of an organisation
